How much does a website cost in Namibia?
The short answer: A custom business website of about five to eight pages starts from N$15,000 and typically costs N$15,000 to N$35,000, while an online shop or booking website starts from N$35,000. On top of the build you pay for a domain, hosting and, ideally, upkeep. All our prices exclude 15% VAT.
The build is only one part of the cost
When people ask what a website costs, they usually mean the build. But a website is made of several parts, and each is priced separately:
- The build: designing and creating the site.
- The domain: your address on the internet.
- Hosting: the servers that keep the site online.
- Business email: addresses on your own domain.
- Upkeep: keeping everything secure and current after launch.
Seeing all five side by side stops surprises later. All our prices are in Namibian dollars and exclude 15% VAT.
What the build costs
A custom business website of roughly five to eight pages starts from N$15,000 and typically costs between N$15,000 and N$35,000. Custom means designed around your business, not poured into a template.
An online shop or booking website starts from N$35,000. The extra cost comes from the extra work: products, payments, orders and bookings all have to be built and tested.
For a focused business website, the build includes:
- Design to match your brand
- A mobile-friendly build
- Contact or enquiry forms that deliver to your inbox
- Basic SEO setup (Google Search Console, a sitemap and page titles)
- SSL security, which gives the padlock in the browser bar
- Speed optimisation and launch support
- Content writing, using stock photos or photos you provide

Domain: your address
A domain is the address people type in, such as yourbusiness.com.na. We charge from N$500 per year for .com.na and .com domains, for both registration and renewal, excluding VAT. We register it in your business's name, so it belongs to you.
Namibia's own extension is .na, managed by NA-NiC, the Namibian Network Information Centre, based in Swakopmund. You can register a short name directly under .na (yourbusiness.na) or a longer one such as yourbusiness.com.na. The short ones are treated as premium and cost far more. Registration prices are set by registrars competing with each other, and the cheapest option is a local organisation registering at the third level, such as .com.na. That is why most Namibian businesses choose .com.na. A .com is also a sound choice, especially if you sell to customers abroad.
A .com is usually active within a day. A .na domain can take a few working days.
Hosting: keeping the site online
Hosting starts from N$1,500 a year. Your site sits on servers we manage in Johannesburg, which is close to Namibia, and is delivered through Cloudflare to make it faster and better protected. The price includes an SSL certificate, uptime monitoring, security updates and regular backups.
Speed matters here. Most people in Namibia visit on their phones, often on mobile data, and a slow site loses customers before they see what you offer.
Business email
Email on your own domain ([email protected]) looks more credible than a Gmail or Yahoo address. We use Microsoft 365. You pay Microsoft's licence price per mailbox, plus a once-off setup fee of about N$750 to N$1,500, which includes moving your existing emails across.
Upkeep after launch
A website is not a once-off purchase. Like a shop front, it needs looking after. Maintenance plans are optional but recommended:
- Essential, N$600 a month: software updates, a monthly health check of speed, security and broken links, and a short report.
- Standard, N$1,500 a month: everything in Essential, plus up to 2 hours of content changes or small improvements a month.
- Premium, N$3,000 a month: everything in Standard, plus up to 5 hours a month and priority support.
Without a plan, changes are charged at N$650 per hour, with a minimum of 30 minutes. If your content changes often, such as products, vehicles, news or bookings, we can build an admin area so your team can update it themselves. We agree that when we quote.
Costs people forget
- VAT: our prices exclude 15% VAT.
- Renewals: domains renew every year, and hosting is yearly.
- Online payments: we integrate DPO Pay, a payment gateway licensed to operate in Namibia. Your business applies to DPO directly, and the transaction fees are agreed with DPO, so they are not part of our build price.
- Being found on Google: a Google Business Profile setup is N$2,500 once-off, and ongoing SEO is from N$2,500 a month. Rankings typically take 3 to 6 months to build.
Is the cheapest option the right one?
Sometimes, yes. If your business does not need a bigger package, a database or a custom system, we will tell you. We would rather you buy what fits.
What we would caution against is patching an old site built on page builders and stacks of plugins. These get slower and less secure with each update, and patching them keeps you paying to maintain the problem. We would rather rebuild properly on a modern foundation.
How long it takes
A focused business website typically takes about two to four weeks. Shops and booking sites take longer. The biggest factors are the size of the project, the number of integrations such as payments, and how quickly your content and feedback come back to us.
What a good quote looks like
A good quote is written and comes with a scope before work starts. It should show what is included, what is not, and what you pay yearly or monthly afterwards. We give you a written quote and agreed scope before any work begins, and you approve the design before anything is built. Once a website is paid in full, the code is yours, along with your domain and content. Our Infrastructure page explains the hosting and email side in more detail.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a website for less than N$15,000?
Our custom business websites start from N$15,000. If your business doesn't need a bigger package, we will tell you. Our first conversation is free of obligation.
What will I pay every year once the site is live?
At minimum, your domain from N$500 a year and hosting from N$1,500 a year, both excluding VAT. Email licences and any maintenance plan are extra, and you can add them up from the prices above.
Do I need a .na domain?
No. Most Namibian businesses use .com.na, and a .com is also a good choice. The short .na domains are treated as premium and cost a lot more.
Who owns the website once it is built?
Your domain is registered in your business's name, and your content belongs to you. Once a website is paid in full, the code is yours too, and we will hand it over if you ever want to move.
Do you work with businesses outside Swakopmund?
Yes. We are based in Swakopmund and work with businesses all over Namibia. Most projects run smoothly by phone, email and video call.
