Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones get Android 17 update: is yours listed?

The short version

Xiaomi has published the HyperOS 4 rollout schedule, its new Android-based software, for Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices. Updates arrive in three waves, and your model's wave decides roughly when you can expect it.

What happened

Xiaomi has published a global schedule for HyperOS 4, the software that runs on its phones and tablets. It covers 82 devices. The first wave starts in early November and includes the Xiaomi 15 and 17 series, the Redmi Note 15 and 17 ranges, and many POCO F8, X8 and M8 models.

A second wave starts in mid-November. It includes the Xiaomi 15T, POCO F7 and F9 models, and several tablets. A third wave starts in December and reaches older devices such as the Xiaomi 13 and 14 series and the Redmi Note 14 range.

The update brings a see-through glass look, redesigned lock screens, more customisation options, and performance improvements.

Why it matters to you

The dates are starting windows, not guaranteed installation days. Availability may vary by device and region, so your phone may receive the update later than the month shown.

If your model is not listed, it is not part of this rollout.

What to do

Find your exact model name in Settings under About phone, then compare it with Xiaomi's list. Note which wave it falls in.

When the update arrives, back up your photos and files first, connect to Wi-Fi and make sure the battery is well charged before installing.
